How Many Jpeg/Raw Images with CF?

Hi, in my excitement at ordering my Nikon D200 I clean forgot I haven't got any compact flash cards. :bonk: I'm going to order a SANDISK EXTREME III CF 2GB CARD but until it arrives I'll probably get myself something locally so I can have a play.

Now my question is - how many Jpeg or raw images can you get on the various size compact flash cards using a 10 mp camera? :thinking:

Well my 4gb card in my D200 gives me 240. So vecsri's quote of 120 seems entirely plausible to me. Although I've just checked a full card and it has 244 on it :lol:

It also tells me I should get 449 large fine JPEGs :thinking: alhotugh they're known to underestimate too. :D

Yep, true. Didn't think of that. They do vary in size...

Thanks, Sounds like however many Jpeg you can approximately get half the amount in Raw or thereabouts.
