This is a pretty classic view that's been reproduced on countless paintings and photographs. Who am I to buck the trend?

Still a good view no matter how many times it's been pictured.
I don't think I'd get bored of a view like that.
Wonderful. :)

Sadly you've altered the shadows far too much.

Care to explain?
It was an overcast day - I don't really see much in the way of shadow at all.
I think what he meant in his own special way is that there is no contrast in the scene. From the halo's around the headland and the foreground rocks I guess you have fiddled with the contrast or black point or HDR'd it. Whatever you did anyway, it's left it looking a little flat.

Is probably nearer to the correct contrast level for the scene.
But who am I to judge. It's your shot and you processed it the way you wanted.
It's a really nice scene though and it's never easy when the weather's minging.

Thanks, Gandhi. Constructive crit is useful and I see what you're getting at. I struggle with getting some shots to have a decent punch. Yours does the job.
What did you do to it?
Cheers

/ edit - you're right - HDR and contrast masking and high pass filter
Just used the middle slider in levels and dragged it to the right a bit. Nothing else.
Could also have been done with curves or just the contrast adjustment layer.

Thanks - onwards and upwards along the learning curve :)
No worries. Happy to help!
