I posted this message under the guise that i am asking for advice, when really i'm just showing off and trying to make you all jealous!!:)
I'm off to Skomer Island on Sunday to photograph the Puffins amongst other seabirds. Anyone have some handy tips?

Good luck with your trip ..
Can I ask another question to run alongside yours?
We are going to Skomer on Saturday. Is there anywhere on the island to buy food or drinks etc?

Hope i'm not too late - I'm told there isn't any food sold on the island, just water at the landing point. Have fun :)

hello well your right take all the food and drink as theres nothing else but birds on that island!
If it is the puffins you are after ,head to Wick . Kit i used 70-200 & 100- 400you could use 24-70 and still get full frame shots they come that close to you. the other thing is if you want to get on the first boat you will have to be there about 9am . I might be going sunday as well ,hope this helps and good luck .
Just rang to check if the boats are going. they are going today so the TP members will have got on Skomer . Was 50/50 decision if they took the boats out today . You can ring to check they are sailing but they make there decision between 9am & 9.30am that day, so might not be worth it if you have a long way to travel .
