Well, there I was, at 7.30 in the morning, in the middle of a forest in the middle of Kent. Armed with my Nikky camera, I took some pictures despising the rather gloomy conditions.
Sorry they do look a bit flat and uninspiring but I didn't want to let them go to waste.
As you can see, I was going to have light-related problems . . .

But tried to make the best of a bad situation anyway.

Then gradually and slowly, it tried to brighten up a little, but not much.

Carried on walking until I came across a field with a couple of horses in it. One stayed away, obviously wasn't in the mood to be photographed by some random passing stranger, but this young lass wasn't very camera shy. In fact, I swear she was actually posing deliberately!

And is it me, or horses seem to look very cute when taken close up with the lens zoom pulled back as far as it can go?

And so there you have it. Hardly breathtaking stuff, but better than nothing.
SInce it has been years ago since I last had a wander in the woods, I had half expected to be assaulted by the scent of pine and fern, but in actual fact, there was that overpowering smell of decay (from rotting animals and wood). It took a while to "cleanse" my mind from that where I could still "smell" it when I got home.
But despising that, I will still go back there and try again in the near future, but only when I know sunlight will be strong and the sun being higher up in the sky during the middle of the day.
Actually, right now, 6 hours after I took these photos, the sun is beaming away! But, I'm too tired to go back up there and try again.
Thanks for taking a peek at this thread. Any tips and advice regarding taking woodland-type pictures would be appreciated as it's actually a lot trickier than I thought.
