I do like the composition, colours and DoF.

Good attempt, you've blown the top left area which is a shame but not too noticeable due to the hikey style of the shot. no shadows on the front nut give the feeling of it floating. I like the overall style and the setup of the subject too. ;)

Thanks for the comments its always nice to get positive feedback.

FYI Although many of you will have guessed the nuts were placed on a lightbox and were back lit with window light.

i was thinking of something similar myself.
i work for a company that make light fittings from brass and some of the parts are interesting. being brass they tend to reflect quite a lot. might be interesting
