Cracking day today. Nice weather, a sparse crowd and some fantastic old machines. Historic F1 cars galore. I'll be back tomorrow for some more. Bit of a mare trying to work out which shots to post. No processing done here apart from RAW to jpg and a resize. Feel free to give me some grief for any of these, plenty of whacky angles to annoy some!

Cheers guys. I was ecstatic to see the six wheeler out along with a JPS Lotus and Parmalat Brabham. They weren't holding back either, a few spinners out there. Should make for a good race today I hope :). russdaz, it's a big paddock and a packed day, so worth the trip out if the sun breaks through today (IMO).

I'l keep my fingers crossed on the weather front looking good here, and i aint to far away, i would be Mallory for the BSB this weekend if i didnt have my shoulder in a brace and i am supposed to be starting a new job on Tuesday, not worth the risk. So make sure you get some good ones for us.

Didn't think it was worth starting another thread, so here's pics from Sunday. Spent a lot of time in the pits which were open to all, which is always a bonus. Nice to get up and close to a six wheeler and some JPS Lotae.

#8 from both sets are my favourite by a mile. Love the angle in the first and the composition of the second is just brilliant.

I may have asked this before, but where was #4 from the first set taken from? I also can't get my head around #9 from the second set, were you stood on track?! On a general note did you have a press pass?

Cheers. I think #8 from the second set is my best of the weekend. Expect to see the same shot done by a few other people in these parts :)

#4 in the first set was taken at the exit of Surtees going onto the GP circuit. I was up a short ladder looking over the fence.

#9 in the second set was at the exit to the pit lane. No press pass required for any of these. The pit was open to all this weekend :) Fantastic to get up and close to the F1s.

Nice!

Your #8 is waay better than my version of that shot. But I knew that when you showed me it straight after! Definitely my fave of all of yours from this weekend. Good job someone spotted that :D

I like #5, its Michael Jackson!

Mornin,

Picky i know but thats why we're here isnt it?

Saturday Pics:

#1 - Technically fine but doesnt work for me - maybe theres too much white?

#2 - Technically ok (except for the high shutter speed :nono:) but the scrappy background detracts a bit.

#3 - Seems a bit dark on my screen, unlike the rest.

#4 - Spoilt by that hideous catch fence.

#5 - Superb.

#6 - I think a bit of a tilt would look good.

#7 - Good shot, although there seems to be a strange light patch over the wheels of the front car.

#8 - Quite like but im still not sure about the fronts of cars only.

#9 - Very good.

#10 - The angle seems little too extreme even though its the same as #9, and thats a bit rich coming from me!

Sunday Pics:

#1 - Doesnt work for me - although if it had been spitting flame...

#2 - Like angle and the composition but a little more light at the front would help.

#3 - Would have worked with a tripod but not handheld.

#4 - Very good but a bit more flash?

#5 - A bit too much vacant space top and bottom.

#6 - A bit of a catchlight in the eyes needed.

#7 - Thunderbirds are go! Shallower DoF would work really well here.

#8 - Fan bloody tastic. And no you wont see mine as the DoF on a 300 with 1.4TC at that rabge was about 6".

#9 - Not as good as the Elise pic that was similar from a while ago.

#10 - Quite like it but i have to say Desantnik's has been the best of the Pilgrim's Drop bunch so far. Bruddy marshal post!

Cheers for the extensive comments BLZeebub. I didn't process anything properly, so levels, white balance and colours are out on some of them. Will go through a few and flickrize them over the week.
