Taken on the approach into Alnwick.

and I must confess I stole the idea from the same pic in my local rag.
I'm just too honest:)
I like the idea, but am not sure about the column which seems to be leaning backwards.
Doesn't look like its leaning backwards to me, but does look like the whole thing needs rotating a degree or two c/w. I think as a larger picture this probably works really well when you can see more detail in the column. Its possibly also a good one for a combined bracketted shot on a cloudless day to further increase the overall detail whilst making the column/gate the main feature as the clouds are a bit distracting imo.

great idea, nicely exposed, does need slight rotation I think
I did try to rotate it, but it didn't seem to work. Nor did attempts to alter the perspective.

Yvonne, Russell, Dave, thanks for the comments, tis a great way to learn:thumbs:.
Russell, the shot is taken from the road below, and the column base is at a much higher level so was actually looking up through the gate which may give the impression of it leaning back.
Yvonne, I see how the clouds are a bit distracting, next time the sky is clear on the way into town I will park up and retake the shot, but will have to read up on combined bracketing first.
