From yesterday's "Guardian" newspaper: "For the past two years, a mysterious disease has been wiping out honeybees in the US and Europe. This catastrophe could have a devastating effect on our food supply: about a third of the human diet comes from insect-pollinated plants, and the honeybee is responsible for 80% of that pollination."

I stumbled on the answer to the bees' decline when photographing this geranium - they've forgotten where the pollen is. :) This one's looking on the back of the flower!

Thanks Graphic-Addict and Sawman. I was out shooting flowers in the garden, and this bee wandered into the frame.

Thanks Net8106 & Harrymac. Insects are outside my usual range of shots, but this one was very obliging. It even revealed the finished flower head that I wouldn't otherwise have got in the shot!

Regards, Tony
