Popped over to Popham airfield in Hampshire on sunday for the Charles Church memorial fly-in. We were lucky enough to get a visit from the Vacher Hurricane. Also 2 passes by Caroline Grace in her spitfire too. Unfortunately the aircraft no. was down due to the wind. However It was a great day, And free!!!

This first picture I managed to change to av by accident and it gave me 1/60th. Not bad considering it was a 100-400 with i/s turned off.

Nice set there! You do like your aircraft!

Is the second to last one flown by Michael Palin? :D

Thanks guys, didn't realise the last picture was an aircraft that on the next pass was scattering ashes of a chap well known to popham.

Fantastic pictures. 2 & 3 are great.

I'm quite gutted, I live quite near and could have made this. I just didn't know... Shame really.

great set of pics
#1 pretty good under the circumstances!
I like the helo head on
and the biplane looks like it was making hard work of it - bit of a crosswind?

Thanks everyone. It was a graet day, Popham is a very photographer friendly airfield. No fences and you can literally touch the aircraft when on the ground. I normally shoot there with a 200mm lens which seems to be the most popular lens there. However this time Deanf lent me his 100-400mm. This lens rocks!!!!
Neil

p.s theres an Auster fly-in next month if anyone interested.
