View Full Version : 2 meganes on track
A couple from the meganesport track time at fcs'08. My first proper attempt at panning. These are the only 2 that came out good from about 100 or so. Not quite pin sharp though :'(
Tips or pointers would be great.

What shutter speeds were these taken at? There's not a lot of panning-blur there, and at this size, the cars look as if the could be stationary.
This article has some examples at various shutter speeds for you to compare / contrast with:

Out of the 2, I like number 2 better. The exposure looks a bit better (#1 looks underexposed to me), and I like the way that the car has a bit of room to drive into. #1 is perhaps a bit tightly framed for my taste.
What was wrong with the rest of the 100 shots?

Lovely looking cars to be sure.

A slower shutter speed would help no-end. Good first attempt though.
Lovely looking cars to be sure.
I agree with you man, what was an unusual shape when they first appeared they've definitely grown on me... similar effect the original Focus had.
the rest of them were all way too blurry. As if my panning was shakey, both taken at 1/500, i tried slower but i couldn't quite get the panning any good
