Question the best way to do self portraits ?

Can anyone advise on the best way to do a self portrait, as whenever i try they never seem to come out sharp, i'm guessing the camera is'ent finding the focus point properly, there must be a simple way of doing it, can you also include flash in this, many thanks :thumbs:

1. Remote release
2. Put something where your face is going to be and then manually focus on that

Or ask someone to sit where youre going to sit, and prefocus, then switch to MF.
