righty

be it blunt but im a bit of a noob at photoshop! i downloaded the demo and using it a bit now and i really want to get to grips with it. if i get a book (there are a few i have seen for CS3 for photographers) but in all honesty i wont read them or will leave it after a bit.

i want a video tutorial or DVD so i cant watch them at my desk. anyone know of any decent ones targeted at photographers. Want to learn the basics realy like image resizing (the proper way)exporting borders signature etc then onto B+W conversions and darkening skys etc

anyone know of any. i know google is the answer but im just wondering if anyone has used any?

Are you sure Photoshop is what you need?
Perhaps you could also do with something cheaper if it's just the basic stuff you need atm.

I agree with admirable. Youtube is your a great source of tutorials for anything, with lots of photoshop workshops.

Try breaking up what you need to know into sections such as backgrounds, light effects, touch ups etc. Once you have all these, which can be found on youtube just bring them together.

I found this site very useful http://www.photoshoptalent.com/blog/2008/03/08/40-body-enhancement-photoshop-tutorials/

Hope this helped.

Yep....Youtube.

I learnt loads from there when I first aquired photoshop. Theres a lot of crap on there but, lots of very useful stuff too.

Learn about the basic tools first then, Layers(they're the most important)

Do regular saves (ctrl+S)

Learn how to select using the "pen tool and paths", this is invaluble as you can always recall your selection once de-selected.

Enjoy it too.
