D40x flash & other equip.

Hi all
I have not long had my d40x, I am really impressed with it, just wanted to know can anyone rcommend a reasonable price flash for it? I have recently become self employed as a designer, so I think photography might play quite a large role in my work now.
Also I would like a basic studio maybe portable - but just dont know where to start!! any help would be much appreciated. Money is quite tight at the mo!
Are there any shops/warehouses that are any good in the North West?
