We held the third of our Marathon Series races at Kielder, this weekend.

I was actually marshaling, due to lack of bodies, but since we marshall in pairs, I managed to
grab a few shots at our first checkpoint.

That's Ant. He's a Lumberjack, and he's OK (well the modern day equivalent anyway). Used
him to test my settings before the bikers came through, so he thought it would be better if he
pretended he was riding a bike too...

Nice spot to take the shots with that break in the trees in the background. Looks like hardwork, Ant is not my favourite shot. #1 just shades it for me, although at first site I liked the first four equally.

Thanks rh1944.

Agree that it's nice spot. I literally had about 10 yards of grassy track, which linked tarmac with forest track, so obviously very limited in where to take shots, but I think I chose the best position. But they're all quite similar, hence why I've only posted a small amount, so I guess it just comes down to which rider looks the best. :)

The cyclests look that sharp that i first thought they had been pasted. in my opinion a touch slower shutter but thats just my prefs. Sam

lol, I have got an interesting look going on in them! I shot in RAW, but didn't seem to need any adjustments at all, so nothing done to them, apart from minor sharpening.

RE: shutter speed - I would normally use a slower speed, but since it was a very slow section of trail, I decided not to even bother trying to get any movement in the wheels, and just get some really sharp shots (Something I've learnt recently, after posting some motorsport shots).

Cheers for your comments :D
