Which angle do you prefer....straight on... or slightly to the side?

I prefer the slightly to the side shot. Both are very good but (and it may be my crappy monitor here) they just seem to lack a little punch if you know what I mean.
Thanks Gary. The thing I find strange is that on my PC they are a lovely bright red....but on here they are and orangey red. Odd.

Ahahaha, yep I know that one, don't even get me started on colour profiles etc. as long as it prints out ok thats all that matters.
Yes they print out fine! LOL they just change colour once they get on the server.
Janice
On my naff works screen I prefer the first one as it stands out a little more than the second, plus the first one seems to be brighter so number one for me IMO

I prefer the head of the 1st but the composition of the 2nd. The water droplets are a touch blown though - due to web resizing etc I would expect.

Both are very good Janice. I would have been happy with either.
#1 if I have to pick as space on left hand side of #2 becomes slightly distracting (but only after i look at it for a VERY long time )
For this particular flower I think the first shot looks best Janice. Both are nice though yes.

slightly to the side for me....gorgeous red!
2nd shot. Composition is absolutely spot on. My monitor is showing it the tiniest smidgen underexposed. It's probably just me though :)

I tend to underexpose slightly as I like the look! :) But I fully realize not everyone does. I just think you can see more detail if its not so bright.

And you're probably right to. On second thoughts, I'm willing to bet that if you did increase exposure slightly, the top edge would be far too bright. As it is, the waterdroplets really stand out nicely. Perhaps they'd lose their appeal if the flower was bright? Ignore me :)

The first one for me frame wise. Love all the varied translucence in the reds on both though.
