Dont know if anyones had same problem but I have a 3month old 3rd generation nano which is no longer working. :'(

Havent used it for a week, now its not turning on presumably flat battery. Stuck it on PC but I get an error message saying the usb device is malfunctioning. (its not the pc cos other stuff works on my usb port)

rang up techy support and did that remove and reload software stuff but still no luck.

Now I have to go to apple store for them to look at it.

Anyone else had this?

I'm fed up :bang:

(Bring back vinyl 12 inch records;))

I think I read somewhere that you have to leave it plugged into the PC for at least 10 minutes before it's got enough power to work the USB properly.

My neighbour had an older Ipod, he had to buy a mains charger because his PC would not charge it from a "flat" battery.

ok.....I'll give that a go although the techy support girl never mentioned that? To busy chewing gum :nono: :)

do you have an option in your itunes to reset it to factory setting?
could be worth a try.
i had a new classic 3 months old it packed in i took it to the apple store and they gave me a new one! so don't worry if it doesnt work

Usually when mine stopped being seen in Itunes, doing that reset sorted it, obviously if its not charging thats kind of difficult though :(

Did I say I get them for less? My point was you pay as much as that for music when you can go out and listen to live music for free in the tube! ;)

i had a problem with the same type of ipod, if you go into disc manager and if you can see it there try changing the drive letter.. that sorted my problems.. its worth a try..

BeHappy

my ipod comes up with the apple logo on the screen now and then - i stick it on a mains charger for 15mins or so then turn it on usually works spot on. Battery is just that dead it wont work.

Mind you i only have mine plugged into the car - thats the reason i bought it!
