(Forgot to darken image as "Save to web" seems to lighten everything)

One to pop back later for methinks, when the rest are in full bloom.

Are you saving the ICC profile when you save for web? Also, if you're working in AdobeRGB and then saving for web, it'll be viewed in sRGB which has a narrower gamut. I have problems sometimes with my shot's losng saturation. Converting the shot to sRGB before saving normally helps. Failing that, try just saving as a jpeg and reducing the size manually. Might help?
