I've no real clue how this looks as I've edited it on a crappy laptop.

180L, hand-held. No flash.

That's odd, I was just thinking last night that after all the stuffed bird shots we've had of late someone is bound to start offering flutterbys. :naughty: ;) :D

Actually I really like that.

Not a fan at all of the "accepted by the oldschool" flat on view to best see the wing pattern but that is just great.

Thanks mate. First one I've seen this year and he was quite obliging. :)

Lookin good despite the crappy laptop editing lol.

I really need to get a macro lens. I was out looking round my garden yesterday and founds loads of creepy crawlies! Sadly no butterflies though, they really are in decline alas.

Agree with above about the flat wing type images, good for looking at the wing patterns but a bit dull.

Ditto Dodsy ... fine on mine too ! Only comment might be, as it is side on it might be good to have it all in focus ? The head and flower are pin-point but the top and back of wing are slightly oof ... imo only of course !

TFS ...

That's two wings there Rog, one tilted towards the camera, and one tilted away. There just isn't enough DOF at macro distances to get it all sharp. :shake:
