A couple of pics of my daughters rats....

I'm trying to learn so what could i have done to make these better pls?

Hi Mike,

The main problem in these pictures is the cage - it's in the way and very distracting.
An improvement would be to let the rat out of the cage and let him/her run around on the floor (if it's allowed). Then you could lay down on the floor to get a good perspective view and take some pictures.
Also, try to have a good clean background - that is with nothing distracting such as a chair leg etc - you should also use a wide aperture to blur the background as much as possible.
If the rat is allowed outside then that would make a nice pic with a green background of the grass. :thumbs:

I agree, get them out :) theres not enough pics of pets! I need to get editing mine i did a few days ago [ of guinea pigs]! rats have such characters you'll get some good pics if theyre out of the cage.

If you absolutely must keep them in the cage, set f stop to max (small no) and press hard up against the cage and hope that a narrow depth of field will at least blur the bars. Switch off the flash and light with natural light.
