Aw, gorgeous couple! :)

IMO, I think the background is a little too bright, other than that, lovely

I agree with Betty, with the background being such a pure white it makes it hard to see where the picture begins and ends - might be worth putting a border on it? also I would tone down the brightness of the white ever so slightly, just to reduce the blending of the background and your shirt.

Other than that, fantastic photo and a lovely couple

:thumbs:Very nice photo, everyone on here seems to try to get the backgrounds nice and white, and here we are telling you to tone it down. You can't win can you? However I must agree I do think it would look better with the background toned down a little. Nice to see people looking so happy.

Very nice indeed. Just one word of advice - don't refer to her as 'the wife' but as 'my wife' - trust me 15 years of experience on this one :)

as said the background is to white...

looks like you have done a little ps work on it by the way it looks a bit cut and pasted..

if you look at your shirt on the right of the shot around your shoulder area you will see what i mean...

other than that its a great starting point imho:thumbs:

It's a nice shot, but the bg does just overpower the image a bit. It's a mite soft too.

I believe the choice of blue striped shirt and bright blue top was wise. Very nice color; nice contrast with skin tones. I agree that the white background is a bit much. Maybe a bit of sharpening around the eyes of both of you might help? It seems maybe just a touch soft. All-in-all, a nice shot with elements of excellence. (And you're both better looking than me!)

I will go back and re-edit this and tone down the white. The only background i used was a white bed sheet and pointing a second flash at it to blow it out.

Noted! only married for year this month so i'm sure the advice will be put into practise.

I know what you mean again maybe a re-edit will see if i can improve on that.

it was hard to get the focus spot on but will work on the eye's. It was shot with a cable release in one hand so couldn't fine tune the focus

Thanks for all the comments they are very inspiring.

I like it, nice and relaxed, looks good. :)

People have said the background is too bright, i'm wondering if a different coloured background would work better?

I disagree with the comments of the background being too white, the idea of high key is bright vibrant images and you've hit the nail on the head. you want the background to be 2stops BRIGHTER than your main light (if your using 2 lights on the background set each one to 1stop brighter than main light so it will push out a total of 2stops over exposed.) shoot on roughly f8-f11 and focus on her and then get in the frame next to her this will help with focussing. I really like it, it jumps out at you and the bright background has lifted you off the background and made you human again as so many studio images can have the tendency to make the models look plastic.

I sort of agree with all of the comments here - and I know that there's a contradiction in doing so. The original idea was a high key image and that seems to me to have worked, save that the pic is a tad soft. Otherwise, it seems to be a debate about the background colour and I'm not fussed either way, although CT's edit does give the shot a bit more definition (if that's the right word). But the pure white's fine too. I think it comes down to personal preference.

Its a good shot to start with.

I agree with the personal preference thing. I cant say that i disagree with any of the poinions. The higher key image would probably work a lot better with a decent border..

I think there was some sharpness los after resizing. I looked at it this morning and it looks pretty sharp to me!
