...or Dunnock.

http://www.tpfgallery.com/gallery2/d/14027-1/Dunnock1.jpg

The light was failing fast when I took this one, and it's not as sharp as I'd have liked. Still... at 1/30 sec at 400mm I should be grateful for what I got I suppose.

100-400L, 800 ISO

I'm not sure about that Steve - we planted it about 3 years ago. I seem to remember it being some sort of hybrid. The needles are noticeably blue. I looked up the tree you named and ours has shown no sign of the blue flowers - as yet anyway.

And not too noisy at ISO 800 either ... not a bad capture CT ! I would be pleased with it in those circumstances !

Don't worry ... he's just practising for his new job !?!

Image stabilisation - don't leave home without it! :D It's a real culture shock changing from the 100-400 with IS, to the 180L Macro without it.

I have the same issue going from my 24-105 and 70-300 to my 400mm F5.6. Mind you I'm pretty sure I wouldnt swap as its very sharp and fast at focussing.

It seems Jan had filed the label away - secretary.... sickeningly efficient.
Anyway, it's described as Picea Pungens. Eric Frahm... a bright blue pyramid growing to 6-8ft in 10 years. A newer form with shorter deeper blue needles.

Been trying to get a decent picture of a Dunnock for the last coulple of weeks - timid little beasts and blend with the background and stay low level - well done.
