Both great shots of Malawi Ian, as usual. Perfectly sharp. I particularly like the second one. Looks like you managed to get him in a rare "sitting still" moment :)
I'm guessing they were with the 100-400?
thanks Paul, yes both with the 100-400 :) he was being really aggressive and doing lots of teeth showing, but wasnt standing still that much lol

Not so much low DOF as Depth of Nose and I think my new 24-70 is acceptably sharp , there's snout wrong with it :bonk:
