After yesterdays enjoyable dawn foray I thought I'd try again and this time visit Albury Wood where the bluebells are supposed to be stunning. A very early start with a six mile drive and about a mile and a half walk saw me there at 4.45am. :cuckoo:

Unfortunately the bluebells are late this year so I spent a couple of hours walking around enjoying my surroundings and the peace and quiet.

This first image was generated using the free version of HDR tone mapping and was taken from three images, I'm very pleased with the result and I may well invest in this.

This one was one of the few areas where the bluebells were out although I'm not too happy with the image, I feel it needs more work:

Another from the woods:

This final one was taken on the walk back to the car:

I must admit I'm really enjoying shooting landscapes and I'm hoping to re-visit this wood next week when there should be a riot of colour.

As always all comments and critique is appreciated.

Colin.

Some stunning shots amongst these Colin ... really impressed with your composition and captures ! Must make it really well worth the effort of getting out so early ... might become a habit (as in addiction !). Hard to pick a winner from these.

Did you go to work in the end ?

Not sure I could tell what difference the HDR image makes over the original ... new technology to me this one !

Some great shots there - I really like the last one.. good composition, and the way the light reflects off the tree. I bet it would also be a good mono shot :)

I don't think I'm that dedicated to be getting up that early though ;)

they're all very very good, esp the second one :)

i'd agree that the last might look good in mono too.

I like the last one, I also think it could be quite a stunning image if you were to convert to B&W
