hi
just wondered if anyone could help try and get this pic any better, its an old pic from 85 scanned and my mum want's a copy but picture is fairly poor

thanks in advance if you can help

Have you tried photographing the picture? I have some pictures from the 50's that I scanned and the bright light from the scanner really did a number on the image.

I set up the images in my softbox and took pictures of them. They came out a lot better! I was able to do some repair work (a tear, a stain, some fading) and reprint them for framing.

thanks may give that a go, im fairly new to all this photo stuff, only got my new DSLR 2 weeks ago so don't know a huge amount about image repair work,
will take some pic's and see how they come out

This is from 1951, in a little club in Havana, Cuba. My wife's father. You can see it is stained and faded.

Thats that then.
The guys/gals here could probably do a better job with the very best quality full size scan you can muster, if you don't have the photo either, what's already been done is as good as its gonna get.
