 Hi all, im 56 from Northants and have just started to get full interest back into photography after being well into it in my younger days in London. Over the years ive workied my way up from the brownie with built in bulb flash through the vatious Instamatics and Polaroids to a Karl Zeiss split screen viewfinder model and then my first SLR the Pratika and a darkroom at home. After dicovering the joys of motocycling and work givng me no free time I stuck with cheap cameras without too much interest.
That old flare is returning and I felt a bit out of place at Silverstone this yr and missed some good shots in Switzeralnd with my cheap Cannon digital with tiny view screen. (Good excuse to go back)

DSLR here I come

It's like 'light blue touch paper & stand well back'!! You've described my 40D to a 'T', but I just know there'll be more than a few 'Nikon-nites' waiting in the wings.....:exit:
