So instead of having a 365, I have decided to do a "1".

http://images39.fotki.com/v1236/photos/9/911728/6479092/IMG_0905-vi.jpg (http://public.fotki.com/Gazedd/1/1-pictures/img0905.html)

So there first question you ask yourself is what has the title “1” got to do with a King Pot Noodle?
Well here is my “1” to explain why…

My life has recently changed peace in so many ways; I am currently stepping up into the big bad world of adulthood. I am purchasing a house, in which I will be starting to move my life’s possessions from my box room at my parents house, in to a 3 bedroom Middle terrace mansion, well to me it is! But, this is still only the seconded biggest event in my life.

My main event was asking my girlfriend of around 4 years to marry me. This was a big step in my story, Kathryn (my now, fiancée) has changed my life, she has kept me on the straight and narrow and we have grown up together tremendously.

I decided recently that because of the house purchase I needed to buy my luxury items before DEBT hit and hit it did… After consulting with a financial advisor, (who by the way is one heck of a guy) we both decided that we could afford and run a house. So before we put pen to paper, I went out and purchased a Canon EOS 400D, Along with the standard kit lens and a lowepro slingshot 200AW. This seemed to be ok until I became a member of this sight, possibly a very costly decision, because I’m sure you will agree, 1 lens is just not good enough.

So after consulting with my soon to be, “‘er in doors”, I purchase a 55-250 IS Canon lens and a Nifty fifty. I must admit I have been very frustrated that I haven’t pointed the camera at a lot of subjects, like the frustration when you are in a traffic jam and you know the other lane travelling faster but just cannot nip in to that perfect gap.

So, I have a big debt and a new hobby, so how do I pay for this, this is where my life turns around, I currently work within a very fast paced business. Time flys when you are having fun? Well this place is not fun, nor does time move swiftly on… Time sits still, you clock watch the same way you clock watched in your exams at school once you had finished the paper. You know there is a great world out there, which, until 4pm is not your playground! My job is not the best paid job, but not the worst and I get by with a few treats which will soon have to stop.

So, I currently have a fasted paced job, a fast personal life with sorting out everything to do with our house, a new hobby which is becoming harder and harder each day I turn the learning page and I’m starting to loose the cool, calm and collected face that I usually have. I have become very snappy towards my friends, I have become increasingly distressed with Kathryn and to sum it all up, I have been given extra responsibilities on a project I am currently working on. Can anything else happen to me to take up those only hours I have to myself which I call sleep?

So now you may be asking, why is any of the text I have just spent the best part of 5 minutes to read, got anything to do with a pot noodle?
Well, in essence, it hasn’t. It’s more the feeling that when you have made that pot noodle, you have that moment of “mmm”, and then the hunger starts again. You can pad a pot noodle out as much as you like with bread, but you will never actually be full.
So how do I top buying a house with my Fiancée?

The wedding…

1 life, 1 story, 1 pot noodle…

…to be continued…

All the best to you and Kathryn. From the few occasions I've met you, you both seem very well suited :) I think you should be very relived you managed to get a mortguage on a house this day in age. Its an extremely hard task getting on the property ladder, even more so when you are not yet married and young! I also want a pot noodle now I've seen the picture

A nice heartfelt post there chap. I can relate to this story fairly well as my job is complete disheartening tosh most days but, on a lighter note, me and the girlfriend bought our first house together recently.
Enjoy having your own place, theres something very warm about putting that key in your front door :)

Good luck affording your hobby, i know my mortgage steals most of my cash which could better be spent on new glass LOL!

All the best

Rob

p.s Pot noodle is filth, a bowl of pesto pasta with some olives and grated parmesan will cost you less and taste a whole lot better!

Congratulations gazedd. Celebrate in style - oh and you'll need to spend on essential glass to get great pics of moving in and settling down in your very first home together. Kathryn will understand that you'll want the pics to show the grandchildren in years to come. :D :)

Best wishes

Jean

btw - am I the only person in the whole world who's never had a Pot Noodle? I read the list of ingredients once - put me right off!
