Another try

Hi, my second attempt at close up. This time I set the camera to "a" priority, f18, iso 200, spot metered and flash. Oh and used a tripod with VR off.

I dont shoot many flowers so feel free to totally ignore my crit.
this would have worked better if you could have isolated the flower, the flowers behind create a mass of red with no really strong interest point.
I also would have prefered all the petals in shot.

Perhaps next time find a flower which stands out more than the others or move some of the other flowers out of the way. and open up your aperture. less depth of field. enough to get all the of the main flower in shot and in focus but throw the background out of focus.

Thanks, that's the kind of advice I think I need to improve my photography. Funny now you point it out it seems obvious.
