You said it, they are very boring. Just same old, same old from you. It's always interesting ideas executed to the highest standard.

#1 is a stunning image - makes the viewer think
#2 is great too.

Can't get #3 at the moment, but when I do then I expect more of the same.

Brilliant

Good stuff Maureen. I think I prefer no2 slightly more than no1, not sure I could say why though. I do like the effect on the strings that looks like it's just been strummed though. No 3 looks almost like the guitar features are floating on the sea, I like the effect.

Stop it now I'm becomming more jealous all the time. I agree with John, were the strings strummed? and the floating effect is vgood :thumbs:

I like #2 Have you strummed the strings in that one? They look like they're in motion!

#1 could be cropped a little wider to get teh whole bridge in as per #3

#3 is my least favourate..Sorry!

I just saw these on your Flickr and loved them.
Number 1 almost looks like the brace is sat on liquid.

Using my bestest guitar terminology...

I'd straighten up the 'brown in-focus bit' in #1 and #2, and then they would be super duper lovely :)

I like the fact the whole of the 'lump' is in shot in #3, but the blue cast isn't doing it for me.

Loving #2 and the vibrating strings - then the abstract feel of #3

Quality stuff Maureen!

Now I've seen #3, the only picky comment I would make is that fascinating island set in a sea of dazzling blue appears to be slightly off a true horizontal. Great set.

Thanks RH it is. I shall get that sorted :)

I really like #2. Its a great angle. wouldn't it be great to get a shot of one being played at that angle. I have absolutely no idea how you could without arms being in the way though.

Oh well, just a thought.

Loving all your guitar shots though, and they certainly do not bore!!

#1 & 3 are great abstracts, but I love #2. The perfection of the foreground contrasting with the OOF fretboard & strings give the shot real depth.
fantastic, Maureen.

Have just agreed with you in another thread....
But this time I differ.. #3 is by far the best.
Looks almost like it's on the surface of water.. i love it!

#3 is the best of the bunch for me! Strange how people's tastes differ isn't it? The first shot doesn't really do anything for me. I like the slightly unusual composition in #2, but #3 is the one that jumps out at me - very modern and quite contemporary.

Sorry Trev, it was my poor use of words. flickr just would not return #3 to my browser, tried about three times without luck.

When I got to see #3, I changed my mind. I'm with you all the way on this. It's a fantasy floating on a sea of blue.

Thank you very much Barry, Trev and minimeeze for the lovely comments much appreciated :)

Had a go at editing 1 and 3. Straightened them and changed borders slightly. Also changed contrast and levels a touch on the original no2. Any better

It's hard to imagine them being better emotionally. They are better technically, but you were at the margin there anyway, so there's not a lot of room for improvement.

So now I might say the neck and head are at a slight angle to true in the first of the new shots. Is this deliberate on your part? What would be the best angle, considering how much the camera can capture? I think there is room to experiment with the position of the camera with respect to the subject. At the moment it is slightly to the right of the axis of the guitar.

Does any of that help? If not, please disregard, tell me so and I'll edit the post to remove the ideas.

Thanks for the feedback Russell. Not sure I quite agree about the angle of the neck and head but it could be my old eyes and I appreciate your opinion. I'm planning to do more shots of the guitar maybe at the weekend including some with it being played so will experiement with angles and aspects some more :)

Maybe it's the impact of the perspective in the DoF.

Hiya Duckydoodle. :) I like the total effect in number 2. The lead in, out and beyond. Number 3, for me, is very striking indeed, as there is still an identity as to what it is, plus you've created a dreamy, calming and floaty effect. Great DoF.
