Let the Cutting Commence!

They have started cutting the rape fields around my way.
Although its been dry lately, theres still a lack blue skies, white fluffy clouds and warm sun :(

On pic 3 you can see a small white fire extinguisher attached to the combine.
Now if a fire started on that combine in the middle of all that dry grass, I think that fire extinguisher would be next to useless.
Think I would be out of that field in a flash :exit:

I suppose we must have had some sun for the crop to be ripe for harvesting. I must have missed it.

I like the pics but I hope the farmer was in reverse in #3. In #2 he doesn't seem to be looking where he's going. :eek: Togging can be dangerous, me thinks. :D

I think you will find the extinguisher is for any flash fires in the combine itself as the it is AFFF. Whilst in operation I think the particle dust from harvesting is very dangerous. Low flash point and builds static like Sugar tankers and stuff......

I think that is what I have heard.....

All that aside I really like the images....in shots 2 and 3 you can imagine the thoughts going through his head..... "What for dinner tonight"......"Am I going to get Lucky"......"God I hate this time of year and straight line"....

The farm hands gave me permission to be in the field as he was cutting.

Yeah, but I shall be going back later when sunnier conditions to get better shots.
