Its been ages since I posted on here! I feel so ashamed :(
Anyway just so you know what I have been up to....
Krimml Falls in Austria, 380 meters tall in total although this is just the bottom section. Taken with D200 and Sigma 10-20mm at the 20mm end for a change!

Great photo, composition and exposure are spot on IMO. Would love to go to Austria one day.
I like the composition and the sharpness. Why is there something that bothers me about the colours? It's getting in the way of saying "great image."
Stoppped at Zell am Zee 4 years ago and went to krimmel water falls for the day. It took ages to get there and i only had an hour there. I was the only one on the trip to see the top as i ran up the winding path took some pictures and ran down to catch the coach back. The force of the falls is terrific

I see what you mean, i'm viewing the picture on a different monitor now and it looks more saturated and contrasty.
If anyone wants to have a fiddle with it then feel free :)

That's a really nice angle you managed to get of the falls and the colours look pretty good to me.
Makes me even more dissapointed with my shots. You look to have had a duller day, the bright sunshine played havoc with my shots and most of them have blown bits.
How long did you get at the falls? I felt we were rushed a bit and I didn't get to spend as long as I would have liked. Also it was annoying that there were a lot of school groups having talks on the way up and instead of looking at the view and then moving to one side they had there talks right at the best viewpoints blocking it for everyone else.
I'd love to see some more of your shots if you have any?

IMO I think the waterfall actually spoil the picture. It's just i feel like the waterfall should be the main interest in the shot, but look how great that water is (not the waterfall) , great use of exposure time its just has a great atmosphere about it. Do you have any more shots of the water ?
That doesnt make any sense as i can't really describe what i mean. But the bluey water going over the rocks is perfect. But the waterfall is just happens to be in the shot

I think we got about 2 and a half hours at the falls, managed to get about half way up, stopping to take lots of pics of course! The weather was really bright at first but then the rain came... in force. I have plenty more of the falls but I havent had chance to have a look through them all yet, the one above is quite litteraly the first one of the holiday I took!

That makes sense to me :) The water was crystal clear. I have loads more that I'll post when I get chance.
Thanks for the comments everyone, keep them coming! Its the only way I will learn

I think the colours work well. You often get high saturation in dark areas like woodland under a canopy.
I also prefer the "babbling brook" bit to the waterfall.
The colours are great but I also agree that the waterfall spoils the shot a tad. Still a really nice shot.

I think this one shows the scale a litte more, you can just about see the tiny people at the bottom!

I think both are fantastic images and I don't think the first would have as much interest without the waterfall. However saturation looks a bit high in both.

Both nice shots but prefer the 2nd as it shows the power of the falls more...
I was lucky enough to visit a few years ago during a week in Austria, beautiful country

Thanks for the comments.
I think there is a constant rainbow at the bottom of the falls, shame there isnt a constant pot of gold there too :(
I'm hoping to go back to Austria later this year for some snow.
Nice captures, I went there about 5 years ago in September one of the best holidays I've had, we even had snow in the mountains at Kitzbuhel. Shame my photos are a bit shabby in comparison but then I only had a Finepix A202 at the time.
I like the second one best ;)
