3 times I've been back to this f'in beach now, a round trip of 240 miles. 3 times it's been looking good for a sunset and 3 times it's disappeared behind a huge bank of cloud lol.

Oh well,

mono it is then!

Total crap m8 - soz

You should go back and try to capture a sunset there - it'd be stunning

Oh - just re-read the post

You know this is a great shot - but for me it needs a smidge off the bottom, and perhaps the merest hint of more contrast

Well worth a trip though - but damn the weather !!!

:D

Excellent composition again Gandhi. Shame you keep missing the sunset. Seems to have been a running theme for you this summer :D

I have almost gone to the coast a few times now but the fear of that journey for nowt is one that comes from such disappointments. Makes it all the sweeter when you do nail it!

Oh and a nice mono mate.

That's 720 miles for a B&W shot that is simply breath-taking! I'd say well worth the trip.

Oh yes, simply one fine shot that would look perfect framed in a lounge; thanks for posting this

Know exactly how you feel. In Feb this year did about 600 miles to Elgol (Sky). Snow.. rain...sleet...darkness..cold..& wife.....or was it cold wife?? managed to get over the mountain and just made it back. Waited 3 hours behind a boulder on the beach, camera on tripod wrapped up, and waited & waited. Dead right NO LIGHT NO PHOTO. But somtimes it works, the sky broke for 10 minutes and I got what I went for. Am at work now (wonderfull) but when I get a chance Ill post the shots.
