I took this on thursday but i only processed it today due to general lazyness.

I didn't set out to take any photos that evening but on the way back from ikea i noticed a bit of orange in the sky so veered off to the nearest expanse of water.

I didn't do a great job exposure wise on the foreground due to the failing light and lack of grad filter, so i tried to fix it in raw editor but it really flattened the colours. With the original raw i created 3 exposures 2 stops apart and combined them with photomatix. Unfortunately this led to quite a bit of noise in the darker areas which i smoothed out (to a certain extent) going through photoshop again. It's not perfect but i was quite happy with the rescue attempt.

Thanks for looking.

The sky looks amazing. I think the trees look a little bit washed out. You could try boosting saturation a bit and maybe using Noise >> Reduce Noise and using reduce colour noise to sort it out a bit?

I seem to be making a habit reaching this place just after the suns set.

Mmm I like the first one, great colour and texture and the forground directs the eye pretty effectively.

Much prefer the 1st image - a very dramatic sky there with nice tones.

In the 2nd you have a nice tranquil scene with a good water reflection and sky but the dark skyline really does not help the image - a bit of PP work i the midground area would help the image

Thanks for the comments guys, i may have another go at processing the second image tonight when i've got some spare time. Seeing as this place is just down the road from me i think i'll keep this thread alive by adding new photos and hopefully get better through time.
