The first one doesn't do much for me, but the second one has the old style feel to it, which suits perfectly.

The first would be great if only the peoples' shadows where stronger. Made me think of Paul Strand's 'Wall Street' which is odd, because it doesn't really look much like it. :D

Wow - that first one really grabs me. Don't ask me why, but I could just picture red flags with hammers and sickles lining that corridor.... :shrug:
