A bit of minimalism, taken on the rolling Lincolnshire hills yesterday.

I am trying to be good and comment on the pictures I view but am finding this one difficult for some reason. I prefer rural to urban images and this is a good picture but does not grab me as it should, I think I would prefer it in a landscape format taken from just below the tracks with the sky or up as far as the tracks without the sky

That's exquisite. Composition is wonderful with the horizon in a great part of the image and the tracks starting and ending at interesting points. The colours work really well with that great sky above the field. The foreground texture of the wheat is great and sharp. Excellent, I can't think of a better word to say how wonderful this image is.

Thanks Kerioak, Russell, peppyuk & Mr Bing & Pirate. I took a few of these tracks in various locations, but this one appealed because it appeared to start in the middle of the field, and it had that wiggle at the start. Maybe the driver's attention wandered so the tractor did too!

Amazingly simple composition which works so well - short of having a UFO landing I think you would be hard pushed to improve the image.

I love it!
and I think it really works and says alot where the tracks dont reach you.

Tanks dazzajl, Tom & Trev. I took some landscape format shots of this but more tracks and some trees on the horizon intruded, and I couldn't exclude them without losing the darkness and detail of the field edge at the bottom of the frame.

Excellent capture - nice and sharp . . .
I'd have liked to have seen a little more of the tracks as they disappeared out of the bottom right of the image. As it is they just seem to end in the centre of the shot . . .

Thanks Dark Star, Steve & Galaxy. Steve, after an hour or so of shooting tracks in fields, I finally settled on this one because I liked the way the lines appeared to come from nowhere and disappear who knows where.

I think that's it! I still keep coming back to look at this picture to see what it is that bothers me about it, not often I do that. :D One for the wall as a canvas to see how many people go around the side looking for the tracks
