I was there, and tbh, i was a bit disappointed by the lack of sails on the ships. I imagined that the ships would at least have a few sails up, not none.

there were however, a few ships with the sails up, but i still think that it was a bit of a letdown.

i was next to vale park, on one of the slipways down to the mersey along the prom.

Oh, and to top it off, i got sunburn on my right forearm... :/.

i ended up getting bored, and leaving before it finished today. Still got some ok shots, nothing special though. Not gonna bother posting any, as they're a bit meh.

My previous experiences of big marine events at Liverpool have always been disappointing, either too many people to get any decent shots, massive queues for everything( I'm not good at queuing) or too far away.

I'd like to have gone but didn't bother, your experience and a few others suggests I was correct to stay at home

Face & hands for me. The thought never occured to me to put sun block on. 5hrs in the sun? Nah, not in the UK. I've got another shoot in 40 mins and one tomorrow :/ I agree that the ships should have all been flying their sails. It was a bit of a shame to see them wrapped up. But I had an awesome day zipping around the Mersey on a yacht. Its funny really because today completely kills most of the shots I spent hours getting over the weekend. All the ships docked now look boring against them at sea.

The trouble with having sails unfurled is that the wind tends to blow you places which is not such a good idea in harbour (assuming they were). Wait till it comes time for them to leave and you might see some sights.

They were leaving, but without their sails up.

I was there as I live just off the beach at Crosby.

Burnt forehead for me.

Chris :)
