I'm just wondering why you took them at f22 and a slow shutter speed of 1/15 sec. Was there any reason why you didn't take them at f11 and a faster shutter speed. You wouldn't have needed your monopod then.
These would be great shots if those metal robots weren't throwing wires to each other. I'd love to be able to like the pylons, but can't - sorry.

It's not a very picturesque river to start with so at a disadvantage straight away.

These river shots would work if you had better skies , perhaps a sunset? Also those pylons ruin them :( , keep trying though!!
For me the images are killed by the pylons which is a shame as it looks a nice river location which offers some potential.
I would be inclined to go back to that spot and re-shoot from a different perspective to eliminate the pylons and ideally have some sunset/sunrise or a dramatic sky or some river activity for interest.
was going to try sunsets but it wasn't dark enough lol, may pop back one day though who knows, the camera was in shutter mode from the weekend so i left it
