Just joined so here is a sunset shot over Loch Bracadale from a couple of weeks ago. This just over the top of a hill from my home and within staggering distance.

Cracking shot, I see a bit of a halo on the distant ridgeline though. That's taken near your home? you lucky devil :)

Thanks. I allowed Capture NX2 to apply the standard sharpening (3) to this and I think it was not needed. Dialling it down to zero works better.
nx does oversharpen stuff a bit sometimes. Great program though.
Lovely shot, reminds me of camping just down the road towards the coral beaches earlier this year.

Lovely shot, really tranquil scene with good tones.
Unfortunate about intensity of the sun glow in the water and use of a NG filter would help.
Look forward to see more.

Tranquil yes, even the midges were taking an hour off.
Unfortunately the clouds were never in a position to obscure both the sun and the reflection. Later on when the sun was weaker and lower you lose the reflection because of the lie of the land but you also lose the tonal seperation in the background hills. I have shots from other seasons where the sun falls in different positions. I will have a look through them.
