View Full Version : The last post
Hi all, after weeks of careful consideration I have decided to give up photography. My photographic passion as you've probably gathered is aviation, but later this year I have a new baby arriving. This means next year no airfield or airshow visits as my wife works weekends. I dont know if i'll enter the last 3 catagories in the airscene photographer of the year comp. I am currently leading after 6 rounds. There are many of you on here that should have entered as the quality of aircraft photos on here is very high. Anyway heres some very late, and very last aircraft photos from legends...

Sorry to hear your thinking of giving up Photography, as you have lots of great images, and dont forget when baby arrives you'll have a great new subject
Hi Morph.
You cant give up photography mate, you'll soon have a new bundle of joy to focus on and i'm sure just by looking at your aviation piccys your going to have some cracking pictures of your new addition to your family.
Then you'll have the chance to show your young one how to use your camera and that will give you tingles and a smile to last you a life time, its when you find jam on your lens that really makes you smile:suspect:
enjoy.

I'll second what the others say, with a baby on the way you'll wan't the camera more than ever.
i agreewith above, also it would be a shame to waste such a talent
new babies change so quickly, and youlll be surprised how many shots you will want of them growing up. you can also take the baby to airshows etc with the camera, it isnt that drastic. and like has been said, a couple of years down the line you can start teaching them the ins and outs of a great hobby.
Nice set to "finish" on
But babies only change you as much as you want them to.
Initially its a big change, but life will settle down again.
Get one of those baby harnesses that you wear and you can carry the little one where ever you go ( either front or back mounted)
you will soon get used to it

I don't for a minute believe your going to give up photography, maybe a short respite from the frontline but you'll be back nobody puts in the hardwork to get that good and then just walks away!
Just a quick reply to this thread.
Firstly Neil is a great photographer, i suppose i got him into photography, and he got me into aviation, We have been to many airshows together and spend uncountable hours on the flightlines of various airfields not to mention climbing the hills of Wales for lowfly. Hes my photo buddy, and ill miss all that.
i fully understand his reasons.
Theres always a spare camera in my pack if he falls off the wagon.
Fantastic shots by the way mate:thumbs:

Awsome shots. Dont give it up mate, it may be harder to get out to airshows but as said above you have a new subject and a potential student in a few years :p
Thanks everyone. I already have a 4 year old which is going to make life hard for me at weekends to take pictures and look after the new baby. I've only just put my kit on ebay and im alreay getting withdrawal symptoms!!! Hopefully one day i'll pick up another camera...
