Help with cropping and maintaining dimensions

Help, Help .......... I think I am being a real dim wit, but I am really struggling with the cropping in Photoshop.

I want to crop an image, yet maintain the original dimensions of the picture. At the moment I am having to crop in DPP as I can manage that and then open the cropped image in Photoshop.

I am sure there is something really simple that I am missing, Please, I hope someone can shed some light on this for me.

In photosop when you click the crop tool,it gives you the crop dimensions on the top tool bar.you can change this to whatever sizes you want.hope this helps

Click the "Crop" button in photoshop and then click the "Front Image" button and it will restrict the cropping to the proportions of the image.

When you use the crop tool hold down the Shift key when dragging one of the corners, this will keep the same image ratio.
