Looks a nice day down Herne Bay way. (Nearly a poem).
Nice shots mate. I like the simplicity of the second one and before RH1944 gets in your horizons are dead straight.

How well you both know me. Not only are your horizons dead on, but that building in #1 on the end of the pier is plug ugly. The horizon also appears to be on a third, even better. I do like #2 but would have preferred the almost vertical (not your fault I know) pole to be more towards the right hand vertical third. The dead level horizon might have been closer to the upper horizontal third. #3 which also appears to have wind farm on its dead level horizon also appears to have a load of detritus to the left hand edge that might well be better cloned into the Room 101 of unwanted bits. With the pier gone, you might have recropped to have the dead level horizon on the lower or upper horizontal third.
That's all the picky bits. I really like the set of images. So nice to see the blue skies showing off Great Britain to its best. Despite what I might have said about the building at the end of the pier (and it's not your fault the architect used his sense of smell to design it) #1 is my favourite.

:lol:LOL:lol:
Well done Russell. Right between the eyes. The point is though that you are always right  and generally I don't spot these things until you point them out and its improving my compositions tremendously.

I was trying to be precise in my assessment of your images and I can't find a short cut for "right and left hand vertical thirds" and "upper and lower horizontal thirds". I'm here to learn from you by trying to spot what you are doing with your images. If I could find simpler words I would.

Thanks for the kind words. I do try and help. Being a destrctive critic is much easier than being the creator. Being a constructive critic is a little easier than being the creator, but sometimes the creator does not spot the hidden nugget in the image. I have liked your work from the very first shot I saw and you know lots more than I do about the technical aspects of photography. Please post more.

I wasn't attacking you rh , it just kinda goes over my head like a scientist discussing quantum physics... :)

Nor did I take it as an attack, sorry to give you that impression. I guess there's two distinct categories of photographer, those who are naturally good and have the eye e.g. you. And then there's those that apply rules to stop themselves really screwing up e.g. me.
