I was taking a walk along a nearby beach at the weekend, not much to see there it must be said, but the kids had fun anyway. Took a handful of shots, 3 (well 9 if you count each shot as 3 exposures for the HDR) of which I wanted for a panorama.

Panorama created in photoshop, curves tweaked and contrast boost.

Very nice. I love the depth and the colours. Just goes to show that sometimes even the most ordinary things can be made beautiful.

Very nice , though i do notice a slight halo around the rock and what looks to be a line top-down in the sky top left corner of the rock

Yeah, that's why I don't do many HDR's tbh, they always end up looking fake as opposed to doing what they should. I've only managed to get it right a couple of times.

Thank you both.

I think that's good. Great colours and detail. HDR is just about right - not too much. Well done.

Thanks mate. I think HDR is just one of those marmite things, some people love it, some don't :) I'm generally in the don't camp tbh:)

Apart from what's been said it's a good example of HDR, though next time get up early so as the sand is nice and smooth ;)

When i first joined this forum i saw pp'd work and was like...."that's fake" but i think perhaps it's an aquired taste and i am beginning to really enjoy some pp images. Perhaps it's just as well as like GARLIC BREAD....It's the future!!!
I really like this:)

For my taste colour and tone are too inconsistent across the picture. It's not just the HDR, the light seems to have changed while you were setting up the different shots.

Very strong elements and good composition though. I know plenty of people will love this.

Very nice image - really like the tones. My preference would be to have a bit more sky showing to emphasise the clouds a bit more

Thanks all, especially for your criticisms.

@erding, yes i'd have loved to have gotten more in, but after the pano was stitched together, I had to loose quite a bit to crop it as there were bits higher than others. My 10-20mm is at sigma being serviced, and due back this week, so hopefully can have another go with that and get much more in.

@Jamougha, I think the tonal inconsistencies are due to teh circular polariser tbh, there were literally just seconds between shots so lighting won't have changed that much, but I know the cirpol can play havoc when doing pano's.

@bidden, I totally agree mate, I generally don't go for these ott, punchy colourful shots myself, prefering b+w or cross-processing effects instead of tone mapping + HDR, but some people seem to like them.
