James Ellison, awesome race and a local lad and mate - it was hard to keep focused as the tannoy was relaying the positions, 2nd, brilliant result !

 Good on ya :D

Two cracking shots. Love the first. Shows the close racing plus the hondas front wheel in the air. Number two is a fantastic celebration shot :D

Looks like I missed a good weekend :(

Fair enough, as I say just experimenting - what about the rest so far ?

The rest are fine mate, pretty standard stuff though in terms of angles etc, but there what the riders would be interested in. Think id have opted to shoot manually and increase the exposure slightly (higher ISO)to capture a tad more shadow detail.

I know what you mean with regard to exposure, most shot in TV, there to watch and cheer on the local lads James and Dean, just took the camera as a security blanket, I was with some mates and snapping is very unsociable really at a race meeting when with friends, lol !

Not for sale to the riders so no dramas there but it seems some of my shots may get used, which is nice :)

Yeah thats the issue with Tv, sometimes id rather blow a few highlights in the background to maintain detail in the shadows. Although i am not claiming to good at anything no right or wrong ways.

Must admit i love the sport but i dont think i could attend without my camera these days, although tbh i am losing any motivation to bother with the sport. But make sure if any of yours are used you charge them for it.

Going back to sleep as i cant bothered with barriage of neg emails i generally when ever i tend any comments (although i dont think its any-one from here)

Matey, I put the pics up for comment and thats what you did, positive or negative I don't mind - neg emails, well it ain't me and your feedback is appreciated, thanks for taking the time.

Sorry i think that came out wrong, i have a fair idea where its coming from, and it wasnt directed at you personally, i post things to review here and at other sites, i love the feedback good or bad, helps to improve, but someone out there has been sending insults via email that have no relevance to anything i have taken recently.

Funny thing is that some-one used a pic that was a year old to prove how bad i am and tbh i do agree it wasnt a great shot, but i have improved alot (i think) since that shot wsa taken, but its all done in a way in which i cant reply to the person be nice to know what i should do to put the things right.

Sorry mate just of night.

Well matey that sounds like a forum I wouldn't hang around for so long, I am a big believer in Coaching, not teaching and love being able to help people if I can, not often I can do that in photography as I am still learning but have found the people on this forum are superb, obviously you get a nugget here and there but they don't last long.

If this person is saying you are crap, perhaps ask him for ways to improve ?

Bit hard to have any dialog with this person who ever it is, the emails are being sent direct to my gallery site email, had a few that filled the inbox, dosnt take much so this was posted publicly.

And yes tbh i'd agree with that coment regarding that photo, but its a year old and shot through a fence, badly resized, personally i think my efforts have improved greatly since then. For example a full unedited shot taken this year.

http://public.fotki.com/russdaz/test/test/3654.html you ca download the full file by clicking the get original file link under the photo.

Like i say i dont mind taken advise on how to improve without the comments you cant, i ask all the time, and take that on board, but id rather people commented on the current stuff. but that's all detracting from your thread.

Don't care about my thread really, whoever anonymous may be is a prick, simple, I take pictures of lowfly, my mates use 400d through to 1DSMk2, I use a Mk3 but the images my mate gets with the 400d are far superior than mine, I am learning and lucky enough to have the kit I do.

Your images are excelent as far as I can see and the spineless idiot that posted that comment is, well, spineless !

I am happy for critique however if it is negative I would like pointers on how to improve. Its like all tings really, if I go to my boss with a problem he would like me to suggest a solution, like don't bring me a problem, bring me a solution, that way we work through problems.

His comment that is jagged is probably because it is an 800 wide image, its bound to be pixely !

Sadly I have not grasped Sharpening yet so the images you see of mine are Large JPEG's straight from the camera, sometimes get an Auto Levels adjustment but thats about it - I would love to sit down with somebody and have them show me whats what, tutorials bore the ass off me !

Keep at it fella !

Personally i just have a default batch of settings to edit/convert/resize really dont have the time to do massive edits, although i do tweak them at times for some shots, nothing major though.

Auto levels is poor though, deffo something to practice doing manually, i find auto settings over cook it.

Cant say why i dont like that 2nd shot though as i dont know, but personally i wouldnt do another, but think it could make a decent artwork style shot.
