Clyde v Rangers

Went along to the pre season friendly tonight to see Clyde play Rangers, usually avoid meaningless pre season games but as Clyde are managed by ex Ranger John Brown and Andy "the goalie" Goram is the goalkeeping coach, there were a few guests in the Clyde team, Jorg Albertz, Arthur Numan and Brian Laudrup.

It's the first time I've shot a football game and would appreciate some pointers. All shots taken with my 350D with the Tamron 70-300mm lens.

All shots were taken from halfway up the stand, the light started to fade fast and in the second half I upped the ISO to 800, but the grain is a bit more noticable in those ones!

I do like the one of the team on the half way circle. #9 - the foul waiting to happen - is my favourite from the action shots, although the last one has the most action and is clearer.

What puts me off is the variety of shapes from the crops, it makes want to know what we are missing because you chose not to show some of the image. I am happy for you to crop them all to a single aspect ratio and then resize that to 800 for the forum; that way I won't know that there was something else that I could have seen.

We have seen that posted images on this forum have contained better shots than the tog presented. That might be the case here.

Great try for a first set. I am sure that someone else will tell you how to get great soccer shots.
