Thanks. I'm assuming it is a dragon fly, we need Alby to drop in. I might have to bite the bullet and by a proper macro lens. These were taken with a 70 - 300mm zoom lens with a macro setting. I also have a Raynox M-250 clip on attachment.

#2 looks like a Banded Demoiselle of the Dragonfly order of insects.
I really like the thistle:thumbs:, a much maligned plant yet beautiful in it's own right when in flower. A solitary flower with OOF background makes a pleasing shot......Mick

I personally prefer the bee shot. What the picture doesn't really show, is that the bee was reversing out of the flower as there was no room to turn round.
