Hey guys and girls,

Quick question! In photoshop, how do you go around a subject area so finely like many on here do? I've tried using the magnetic lasso and also the grab tool (on multi select) and I either grab too much of something and it leaks into the area where I dont want to grab, or it grabs too little and takes a very long tim to grab.

Is there a quick way to grab an object/person in a photo or do you all have patience of steel? :p

Regards, James

its not easy around the hair area etc...

I have found lots of useful videos on YouTube.. Type in "photoshop tutorial" and there are loads of videos on there. Even helped me with things I thought I would never use

Hey Vinny, I actually didnt think of Youtube !

I found a great video that explained it well and showed a technique which involves creating a saturated mask and "painting" over the mask to bring back the colour.

Time to play :p

You can use the quick mask to select something quickly, black paints on white removes zoom in to get the edges right and use a smaller brush for the fine detail
