A few shots taken in the garden recently, all with Sigma 180mm Macro, resized and sharpened only (Irfanview).
Any idea what the first insect is? Nearest I can find is some kind of Ichneumon?
C & C please :)

Thanks for looking.
The 1st wasp is great I really like the colours.
Is the 1st beetle radio controlled?

Thanks Tim, I think you're right, could be radio controlled, not sure what batteries it takes though, small ones, that's for sure :D

Nice set of shots, #1 is an ichneumon wasp, they place their eggs in living insects.

Thanks Alby for the thumbs up, and confirmation of the Ichneumon identity :)
Very nice shots indeed. Well done. The Siggy Macro lenses certainly do the biz:thumbs::thumbs:

Thanks BRASH. I agree, the Sigma Macros do seem to be very good. The 180mm is a bit of a weight, but I really like it :)
Great shots, really like No 2.

Thanks Ed. I think No. 2 is no favourite too, although I was quite pleased with No. 1 as it's something I hadn't seen before.

Thanks Cobra, having done a web search for Gasteruption jaculator (what a name!), it certainly does look like that's the one - it's even in my field guide but the illustration doesn't do the insect justice and so I missed it (that's my excuse anyway :D )
Extraordinary capture well done :)
A good set
