I have no idea what they are! Took them as a quick snap whilst walking round The Lost Gardens of Helligan in Cornwall...I've got no 1 as my desktop wallpaper at the moment.

agree with GarynLea they are crocosmia. I have them in my garden and they tend to take over after a few years.

I like these, I've been trying to get some nice unusual shots of these in my garden but failed, you've done much better then I have. Loving the abstract feel of #1 best. :thumbs:

thanks...first time I've really tried close up (macro?) shots of flowers and was pleasantly surprised at how they came out. Perhaps I should have taken more than two!

I prefer #1 but it still looks a bit cluttered and confusing for my poor eyes
have you tried shooting from the side or retake #2 increasing the depth of field
