Welcome to the forum. I really like the damsel fly and the hoverfly, beautifully sharp and well composed. What lens did you use?

Awesome shots, all brilliant. What equipment do you use as no exif data is available in the shots?

I personally feel that ladybirds don't make a particually good subject as there is no real definition to "focus on" IMHO.
Having said that it is a nice image
but the hoverfly is my favourite

Hoverfly is class, top drawer stuff all of them. Up there with Alby's stuff (praise indeed) :)

Thanks all for the replies.
I use a Canon 400D + Sigma 105mm F2.8 macro lens.
I normally just go save for web when creating a lo-res file so maybe that's the reason why the exif data is missing.

Excellent shots - the colours as much as the clarity/crispness do it for me personally. Superb.

It's at times like this, when you get a nice series put up, that I think it is time to dust of the macro lens and have a wander around the garden. Maybe tomorrow!
