I know Goodwood was a while ago now, but I've been struggling to get these all processed. I've still got a load more to go through. These are all handheld, with a mix of the kit and 55-250 lenses. A couple have been cropped to remove odd bits that didn't fit (a small corner of window etc)

1) 1/15 f5 ISO800 @100mm

Very nice images, found myself playing 'guess the model' on a few.

Great

I'm not a big fan of the detail shots, although sometimes I see some that are impressive rather than just a closeup of a bit of something, but thats really the key - something a little out of the ordinary rather than just closeup.

Anyway,

#1 bit too much flash, try knocking down the highlights in PS.

#2 Clone out the barcode sticker

#3 Sort of nothingy isn't it?

#4 The headlight (?) on the left distracts, but still not terribly inspiring.

#5 Composition doesn't really work, its all a little too much skewed one way and not the other - dunno how to explain... colour looks a bit wrong somehow too, blown or washed out towards the top. Probably could fix the colour prob in PS, but with the composition all over the place, I wouldn't bother...

#6 Composition again, the left right position is fine, but its unevenly spaced top and bottom. The angle of the camera to the subject is also just a little random - its not firm about any direction in particular.

#7 Works well enough!

#8 I could be wrong, but it looks a bit like the rear edge of the front elements is out of DOF.

I've tried to keep my C&C technical rather than subjective, but I honestly don't care much for the things as art.

And that is the key here, these things need to be well executed to work. The difference between just an accurate pictorial record of an object and a work of art.

Thanks very much for the comments. The technical view is great and one of the many things I need help with.

Thanks Matt, it was my first go at this sort of thing. Given me some very useful feedback.
