Its a system we have in place to stop signatures appearing all the time. It will appear for one post per page, and with a condition that your post has a certain number of characters.

We felt it was a fair trade off, rather than allow carte blanche with signatures, or turn them off.

It's not random ;)

It's set for the first post which meets the minimum character count condition, and can't be set to just show on the first post the user makes.

Just by way of support Marcel I LIKE the way this site does not throw out large multiple sigs as they can make a forum board very tiresome to read (must be a sign of old age) :)

Has anyone ever been a member of the Delphi forums? (Or the Delphi forums that were, I think they're part of about.com now).

I used to haev a forum on there, and be a regular on many others, and some peoples signatures, especially on the US sites got way out of hand. Some sigs were running to multiple pages, so that it became quite hard to find the posts.

On POTN I listed everything I owned related to camera gear that fitted into the 500 character sig...needless to say they weren't very happy at my listing, yet other people do slightly less and get away with it...

i dont mind text sigs, its the ridiculous banners that people stick in them that do my head in, there is a certain car forum that i used to go to that had the most pathetic sig pics ever, some of them were 600pixels wide animated gifs ffs!
